ABOUT THE JOB
ER Aviation South Africa is looking for a Junior Airline Airport Ticketing Agent will be responsible for assisting passengers with their travel needs at the airport. This role involves issuing tickets, managing reservations, and providing excellent customer service. The junior ticketing agent ensures that all passengers have a smooth and efficient travel experience.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
- Issue and reissue airline tickets and boarding passes.
- Manage reservations and provide assistance with booking changes, cancellations, and special requests.
- Verify travel documents and ensure passengers comply with airline and government regulations.
- Address passenger inquiries and resolve issues related to tickets, baggage, and travel itineraries.
- Handle complaints and provide solutions to ensure passenger satisfaction.
- Promote and sell additional services such as extra baggage and seat upgrades
- Maintain accurate records of ticketing transactions and reservations.
- Prepare daily reports and reconcile cash and credit card transactions.
- Ensure compliance with airline policies, procedures, and industry regulations.
- Coordinate with other airport staff, including gate agents, baggage handlers, and security personnel where applicable.
- Communicate any changes or updates to passengers promptly.
- Assist during flight disruptions, delays, and cancellations to provide alternative travel solutions.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCES NEEDED
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in travel and tourism is a plus.
- Experience in customer service, preferably in the travel or airline industry.
- Knowledge in airline reservation and ticketing systems (e.g., Amadeus, Sabre).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle stressful situations calmly.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Multilingual skills are an advantage.
- Communication in Portuguese (verbal and written) will be advantageous.
